Known as America’s greenest city, Portland is a beautiful city that is alway bustling with a population of about 575,930, as well as the approximately two million people who live in the outlying regions of the city. Portland is one of the few cities most identified with the Pacific Northwest region, including Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia. Aside from its beautiful, green atmosphere and pleasant climate, which is ideal for growing roses, Portland is also known for its excellent dining, shopping, and attractions.

The city has long been known for its large number of microbreweries and micro distilleries, as well as its coffee fanaticism. Of course, due to Portland’s initiative to preserve the environment, the city has also become well known and quite proud of its beautiful parks. Covering over 5,000 acres, Forest Park is one of the largest wilderness parks located within city limits in the nation. Portland is also home to Mill Ends Park, which is the the worlds smallest park, being a two-foot diameter circle. The Portland Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden, and Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden are also located in Portland. Portland is also home to a large range of entertainment and performing arts, including institutions such as the Oregon Ballet Theatre, Oregon Symphony, and Portland Center Stage. Other popular sites include the Portland Art Museum, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. Popular events in the city include the Portland Rose Festival and Oregon Brewers Festival.
